- The compact Kidde optical smoke detector, model 10Y29, has a lifespan of 10 years thanks to its built-in lithium battery. The detector is made of white plastic and features a centrally located test and alarm pause button. This allows the alarm to be suppressed for approximately 10 minutes. This detector is ideally suited for social housing, the renovation of older homes, and homes for recreational use.

- Early warning of low battery capacity: When the detector has low battery voltage and needs replacing, it warns you 60 days in advance via a flashing LED. This prevents you from being woken up at night by a loud beep. The acoustic signal sounds 30 days before replacement.
- Soft alarm signal during testing: The alarm signal is soft for the first 4 seconds, after which it increases to the full 85dB.
- Additional tamper protection: After mounting the base plate, the detector is easy to activate by simply screwing it onto the base plate. The base plate is equipped with additional tamper protection. This prevents unwanted removal of the detector.
